Read MoreIf you have yet to come across Bower Collective you need to go and check them out, and not just because they have featured a blog that I have written for them! haha but please do read it here.
The Bower Collective ethos is to make sustainable living simple and accessible to all. They want to leave a better world behind. They don't accept that waste is an inevitable consequence of how we consume products.
On their website they say :
‘We bring you products that look good, feel good, reduce waste, are sustainable and effective.’
And I 100% agree with them as I have swapped to use their laundry detergent, fabric conditioner, hand soap, liquid dish soap, toilet cleaner and they all work so well. It’s really comforting to know I am reducing on my plastic waste, and also using non-toxic cleaning products in the home,
My blog is about some of the great beauty products you can get via Bower and on a subscription basis too, with reusable bottles that you send back! A total game changer for me!
Go check out their website and I hope you enjoy the blog I wrote too!
Leave a comment if you have used them or any other eco swaps you have tried.

Read MoreRecently my daughter asked if she could give me a facial.
Immediate thoughts. Hell Yeah! Why not??
I gave her a toner and some cotton pads to cleanse my face. She then put a warm flannel over my face and continued by massaging 2 different oils into my skin.
The 2 oils I have been using on my skin recently which have really helped my skin. I have had some dry patches under my nose and using the Arbonne Skin conditioning oil has truly worked on my flaky bits, and I have been using Jamaican Dark Castor Oil which contains Omega 9 and 3 fatty acids that I definitely feel help to plump my skin.
I showed Mya which direction to lightly move her hands, in an upward and outwards motion. There was a lot of pressing and pushing and sweeping of (clean) hands on my face and I have to admit, it felt INCREDIBLE! Maybe show your friends or partner and you can do to each other.
Here is a little diagram below from Huda Beauty (Great cruelty free makeup) if you want something to follow. Just lightly sweep in the directions of the arrows on each side of the face, be careful not to drag your skin too much hence why using oils is perfect. Then press gently on the lymph drainage points or even anywhere around the face as that will also help with tension. You might not always hit the right spots but you’ll be close and at least get some that’s for sure.
Since then I have been putting a bit more effort into massaging my face with my oils. Read my other blog on skin oils. It really helps to reduce puffiness in the face and the stimulation of blood flow around the face, moving toxins away through lymphatic drainage can help to get a more refined, smoother skin clarity.
So, just give it a go!
Much love,
Jen xx

Read MoreSo I stumbled across Bolt Beauty whilst browsing a bit of IG… they looked like those little bath squishies you used to get in the Body Shop as a young teen. All different colours and shapes that you could choose from.
Well these mini travel sized seaweed capsules contain just the right amount of skin care goodness. The fact that the capsules are made of SEAWEED means that they will disintegrate and biodegrade beautifully. The founder Lisa developed these little Eco-encapsulated gems of skincare as she needed a decent skin care solution to go travelling with her boyfriend. Back packing does mean packing light.
No need for this decantering malarkey into little MUJI bottles, don’t get me wrong I LOVE a MUJI container however it is a bit annoying getting those last dregs of product out and filling them up without any spillage even if they do come with a handy little funnel. Also, one of my issues is the life span of a product as when products are exposed to oxygen the countdown begins.
Any way, Bolt beauty currently have 4 skin care products. I am yet to try them out, but eagerly await to.
These are:
Filthy Clean Cleansing Gel - A non-drying gentle cleanser.
Vitamin A Game - A concentrated retinol serum
Mad About Moisture - A soothing hydrating moisturiser lotion
Glow Don’t Shine - A mattifying serum
Reading the reviews on these makes me salivate and I am expecting amazing things. Did I mention they are cruelty free (leaping bunny certified) vegan, and obviously Eco- friendly, with minimal nasties to skin. Ticks all round. I shall let you all know the reviews on the actual products when I get them. EEEK I can’t wait!
If any of you have tried and love these products already please do leave a comment and let me know whether they float your boat.
I think these will be the perfect addition to my kit as well…. just saying.
TTFN ( I have learnt from my tweenager twins Mya and Kamron this means TaTa for now!)
